Insulated Garage Doors

Energy efficient doors that hold temperature and cut noise in the garage and rooms above.

What this service covers

An insulated door is worth it in two situations: the garage is conditioned or used as a workspace, or there is a bedroom above it. Beyond R-value, a foam-filled sandwich panel is significantly stiffer and quieter than a single-skin steel door.

  • Polyurethane and polystyrene cores across a range of R-values
  • Three-layer steel-foam-steel construction for stiffness and dent resistance
  • Thermal break and full perimeter sealing on higher-spec doors
  • Noticeably quieter operation than single-layer doors

Insulated Garage Doors questions

What R-value do I need?
R-9 to R-13 suits an attached garage in a mild climate. Conditioned space or extreme climates justify R-16 and above.
Will an insulated door heat my garage?
It holds temperature far better, but the walls, ceiling and door seals all matter. We will tell you where the weak point actually is.
