Hinge And Bracket Repair

Inspection and replacement of worn hinges and support brackets that keep the door stable.

What this service covers

Hinges and brackets take the shear load every time the door bends around the track radius. Once holes elongate or a hinge cracks, panels start to flex and tear at the fasteners — a small part failure that quickly turns into panel damage.

  • Cracked, bent and rusted hinges replaced with correctly numbered stock
  • Elongated fastener holes reinforced or backing plates added
  • End bearing plates, top fixtures and bottom brackets inspected
  • Bottom bracket work done only with the door blocked and tension relieved

Hinge And Bracket Repair questions

Why are hinges numbered?
Hinge numbers set the roller offset for each panel joint. Using the wrong number makes the door bind at the radius.
Is the bottom bracket dangerous?
Yes. It is under full cable tension. It should never be unbolted with the door closed and springs wound.
